About Me

carswell-32

Looking back, it seems I have been interested in design my entire life. My mom must have noticed, because before I knew it she was asking me to help her bring decorative cheer at Christmas and then again when the trees began to bloom in spring time.  I can’t tell you how many times I asked her if I could rearrange and redecorate my room, but I never thought of it as a career possibility until I got my first apartment.
Friends would come over and like what I had done with my little space, which would then turn in to me helping them with their homes. Over the next couple of years, friends’ word of mouth led to great opportunities ranging from accessorizing bookshelves to designing a tour bus. Every little project helped train my eye and tune my taste more and more. With a little time and a few people believing in me, I was able to turn a hobby into a dream career!
As I continued independently to pursue opportunities, I was asked to join the Redo Home & Design team in 2015 which led to projects I still can’t believe I was able to be a part of.
If I had to describe my personal design style I would call it “Relaxed Classic.” A curated mix of new and old. One of my strengths as a designer is to act like a mirror for a client; reflecting the best parts of their personal taste. I love helping clients express the  interesting aspects of their own style, as well as pushing them to try new, exciting things!
No matter how small or big the project, I love creating spaces that my clients can spend their lives in.

Hi Olivia! We were both nominated for the Leibster Award over on Making in in the Mountain and I just wanted to drop over and say hi! Your blog looks great and I’m excited to follow you. I can totally relate to your situation because my husband and I also live in a 2 bedroom apartment for the time being. I can’t wait for the day I can decorate a whole house! Anyway, nice to meet you and looking forward to seeing more of your projects!
